Some places are more than just buildings. They become part of who you are. No. 6 was known as “Ottosoni” — Rein Ottoson’s shed at Pirita Jahtklubi. It was where generations of young sailors changed, prepared for training and races, kept some of their gear and spent countless hours together. The boats stood outside, waiting for the next session on the water. From this small shed came generations of Estonian sailors and some of the country’s finest athletes — all the way to Olympic medalists. For many of us, No. 6 was much more than a shed. It was part of our childhood — almost a second home. A place where we learned, trained, laughed, argued, made friends and grew up around sailing. The shed is gone now. It was demolished.
